Imeem sued by Warner

Imeem’s recent increasing popularity may be partly to blame for the lawsuit from Warner Music. Among the social networks MySpace is embroiled in a lawsuit  (with Universal Music) and it must be only a matter of time before someone sues Multiply which also hosts a large volume of obviously copyrighted material and is growing rapidly in popularity. With the RIAA’s reputation for being tough on file-sharers it is surprising just how many internet services used for casual piracy are hosted in the US. Whilst merely linking is often claimed to avoid liability, some are hosting the material in question and still managing so far to avoid lawsuits.
